This is JAPAN!!! They afford the efforts to go into details...and very precisely, make prediction for what people is eager about - the SAKURA blossom day!!!
Weather this year is really weird...the cold cold snow stom and we were kind of worried...whether we can catch the sakura season during our photo shooting trip. (It's all about SAKURA yo!!!)
Our photo shooting will take place in Nara 奈良 on Apr 8. Jin has been checking website to keep track with the updates....
The answer is - it's going to blossom on Apr 6! Perfect timing!!!
However, it's too early to relax....let's pray...it keeps the schedule and good weather!!!
Look forward to taking our beautiful photos under sakura trees, with sakura flakes.....sakura~~~~

Being in HK, Carol doesn't have much information about the sakura located a 1200 mi away... Even when I was visiting HK, I wasn't able to get the updates.
However, when you're in Japan, the sakura update is indeed, realtime. It even comes out in the evening news!!! So, these alerts ping me to check the sites to update on the details...
The forecast for sakura blooming is typically done by the national weather department announcement. From there, private and commercial sites make their additional information to provide the detail.
The weather this year was indeed a wierd one. It snowed several times around the southern side of Japan, which in all made an impression that the witer was "cold". However, just these several weeks, the temperature rised so it was extremely warm.
When the weather changes beyond the forecast's "projection", the growth of the sakura buttons will change, thus the forecast itself needs to change. Last year, I think the sakura forecast changed once until the sakura actually bloomed. However this year, it has already been updated twice (three times including the initial forecast).
I think this also means something. I just hope that this isn't the screaming of our mother Earth...
Coming back to the point, sakura will be available for about 2-3 weeks, so I am not too worried about the bloom. I'm more worried that it won't rain on that day... (><;
